Freedom at last... take two.
Corn Chips & Freedom: Behind Hudson & Hanna Ep 061
After a prank gone wrong and a day stuck in a sticky bomb, Hudson finally gets his first taste of freedom.
In Ep 061 of Hudson & Hanna, we see Hudson doing what anyone might do after being trapped: trying to get back to normal. Or, as he puts it:
“I'll reconnect with my true self.”
Hanna’s response?
“Your true self is 80% corn chips?”
And she’s probably not wrong.
Why it works
There’s something funny — and very human — about what we think of as our “true self.” Hudson imagines some deep, cosmic answer. But Hanna cuts right through it with the obvious truth: we’re often a lot simpler (and sillier) than we want to admit.
And let’s be honest: if you’re a snack‑obsessed cartoon character, your “true self” really might be mostly corn chips.
Behind the scenes
This gag started from doodling Hudson finally free — and asking what he’d do next.
Would he do something big? Or something small?
The answer ended up being both: a big idea (“reconnect with my true self”) and a small punchline (corn chips).
That contrast — big philosophical thought → goofy food reality — is what makes daily comics fun to write.
Wrap‑up
Sometimes, freedom isn’t about grand adventures. Sometimes it’s just about rediscovering the snacks you missed.
And if Hudson’s true self is 80% corn chips? Well… at least he owns it.
